Scratchboard Etching

These are all works by Nathan Cole, done by hand using a metal quill on scratchboard. It is a masonite panel, covered in porcelain and India ink, then scratched away with the quill until the white appears underneath the ink. It is a meticulous process, as the surface is extremely fragile and difficult to correct, but one that is extremely rewarding.
